Assignment: Change Assignment to GIS spatial analysis to produce a geospatial mapping of the current and potential state of electricity access including on-grid and off-grid power in each country up to the year 2030. The process facilitated the team’s overall country-level analysis by mapping the current and expected electricity grid coverage and power generation in each country.
Context: The ECOWAS Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE), with funding from the World Bank, launched the Regional Off-grid Electrification Project (ROGEP) focused on enhancing shared capacity and institutional knowledge within the ECOWAS region to increase electricity access to households, businesses and communities using modern off-grid electrification technologies by developing appropriate regulatory frameworks for the promotion of clean energy technologies and services and reinforcing regional integration in the renewable energy sector.
